Truth or Consequences Hot Springs

Yesterday we went to Truth or Consequences, NM to sight-see.  The town was named after a gameshow, apparently.  We found some lovely crunchy stores, and internets! (important for planning the next stages of travel, and couch-surfing)  Then we went to La Paloma Hot Springs Spa for a half-hour.  It was incredible!  I felt really the mellow for the rest of the day.  We went back to the Butte, made dinner and chilled out, each in our own fashion:  I read, Sarah went to swim in the Rio Grande, and Brit was journalling.  This morning I woke just before the sun hit the horizon, and took some lovely photos.  Sadly, the shutter click woke Britt.  It worked out, because we were packed and on the road by 7:30, which means we missed most of the heat.  Win!

We stopped an hour or two later in Pie Town, NM which lies on the continental divide.  We each had pie, Sarah's peanut butter, Britt's Sour Cream Raisin, and mine tripple berry. MMMMM, pie!  Then we drove all the way to Petrified Forest National Park, in Arizona.  Epic!  I took some lovely photos there, also: see a petrified Britt!

Now we're in Flagstaff, staying with a guy named Dan[imal], who is quite a character.  There was a slight mix-up in dates, and there will be anywhere from 5-13 people sleeping here tonight.  Fun adventures in couch-surfing!

Now to bed, because we leave at 4am tomorrow (local time) to catch the sunrise at the Grand Canyon!

Loves from the road!
